Victoria Fashion Week Launches

By  |  0 Comments
Victoria is a growing city with a blossoming, vibrant arts scene.
With an expanding repertoire of high-calibre festivals celebrating the arts and music annually, Victoria is defining itself and its cultural influence on an international stage.
Furthering this push for high-quality, avant-garde events is the launch of Victoria’s first Fashion Week, coming Fall 2017. Producer Joseph Gonyeau coordinated the Fashion Splash runway shows at the Inner Harbour in 2014 and 2015, showcasing Victoria’s local eco-friendly designers, creative businesses and diverse models. The success of these shows inspired Gonyeau to bring Fashion Week to Victoria, alongside a team of dedicated and enthusiastic local entrepreneurs Art Directors Christina Robev, Andrew Azzopardi (Studio Robazzo), and Makeup & Hair Coordinator Melodie Reynolds (Elate Clean Cosmetics).

The Atrium sets the stage for the runway show Saturday, February 25th featuring Victoria’s top local designers and businesses on a glamorous 80-foot catwalk. Regular and VIP tickets are now available for the preview events taking place February 20-25th. Scheduled events include a film screening, opening and closing parties, and of course an elegant fashion show at The Atrium (800 Yates St.) Purchase tickets and find out more at www.victoriafashionweek.com.
Profits from the launch events this February support the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre (VSAC), “a feminist organization committed to ending sexualized violence through healing, education, and prevention.” (vsac.ca) “People should be able to wear whatever they like without worrying about the threat of verbal or physical assault. The launch events are a great way to celebrate bodies positively, and to help raise money and awareness for this cause through the VSAC,” says Gonyeau.
